That's a beauty, and I bet it looks even better in person! If you haven't seen IBO, there are flecks of grey and silver in there, and they would really compliment the kit nicely. I'm jealous that you were able to get some big enough to make an Emperor!!!

So was the other....and the grain was a lot more visible in it. What finish did you use on yours?

Lacquer. And lacquer. And lacquer. And when I got tired of applying coats of lacquer, I added some more coats of...you guessed it...lacquer. Took three weeks to get a finish that I liked.

Beautiful IBO!! That stuff is tuff to get just right. I e-mailed the guy on e-Bay and had him cut me some big pieces. I have a buddy that is a retired Irish cop from New York. I may just have to try one of these. I don't have the patience to work on it for three weeks though. Nice Job!!!!
