It has been a while since I have been here. This is also my first pen in 4 to 5 months. It is a Jr Victor dressed out in a piece of Ancient Irish Bog Oak. It has been radio carbon dated to when St. Patrick returned to Ireland to rid the land of snakes and to convert the country to Christianity. Finish is CA sanded out to 12000 MM and buffed out with Dialux. Comments welcome.

Love the pen, obviously IBO is one of my favorites and getting harder and harder to find (quality material) even for me with major contacts in the country.

As to the story. Be careful. If you do a bit of research you'll find stories of St. Patrick in Ireland that cross some 500+ years (he aged well I guess). And some of the stories are likewise exaggerated or outright false.

Here's a link to some good reliable info.

Mike,

I like to summarize the Irish Bog Oak story, something like this: "You know if Saint Patrick actually existed, anywhere near the time they say he did and if he was actually in Ireland, he MIGHT have come somewhere within a couple thousand kilometers of this TREE!!!!"

"Or, he may have "relieved himself" on it, we REALLY DON'T know."

We DO know it's old wood and a very interesting wood that did come from Irish soil. (This also sells pens, and brings a couple chuckles)
