Well, I learned a thing or two about lacquer finishes with this pen. Especially the amount of patience needed when sanding and polishing the finish!! Got in too big of a hurry and now will need to refinish. Assembled it to see what it looked like complete. Ipe with a satin nickel SL kit from Woodcraft.

G'day Cozee I like your pen mate! With the finishing I no what you saying We must have PATIENCE!! at the moment Im trying a hard shellac finish the only problem with it. Drying time is 3 weeks. At least the Hard Shellac is very easy to use and its cheap.

I am going to try and finish my next pen with an automotive acrylic urethane, the same clear I finish my airbrush art work with. Air dry to cut and buff in about two hours. And more than likely far more durable than typical pen finishes.
