Incredible Spalted Gmelia Burl on Black Ti Retro Jr!

Hey guys,

This is a pen I made the day of Christmas! It is some unusual and really colored spalted gmelia burl, I made a close up shot so you see the grain, truly fantastic!

20 something coats of med CA with a lot of sanding.

You gave it life, the whorls in the sap like top part have the ability to be identified. There is a lot going on inside the tortured grain and I can see lots of sanding brought it into line and perception.

All your pics are revealing and welcome showing all of the pen, the colours are mellow, subtle and varied could not ask for more character.

Great way to remember the day in 2011.

Excellent pen. The finish is fantastic. The whirls and eyes in the wood remind me of the painting, "Starry Night" by Van Gogh.
