I followed some advice earlier on how to keep more dye on the barrel of the pen, doing all of the sanding and the burnishing with the paper bag material. I gotta say it did exactly what I was looking for. Keeping as much dye there as possible. I kinda botched the finish here (I mention this in case someone needs the info) and left some sanding haze. I know exactly where it came from. I had one of my kids in the shop with me and we were talking incessantly and I had NOWHERE near enough coffee to begin to wake up (How does Wizard do it?) and I was sanding the 5th or 6th coat of Medium CA to get it smooth as possible. I forgot to follow the sandpaper with a few coats of thin CA and the medium didn't creep into the sanding marks. Not too upset, it was a self-inflicted issue, and this was first and foremost a test run on the advice I got. And I probably won't be making that mistake again anytime in the near future. This one will likely be for carrying or be gifted out.
