As some of you know, I posted about a frustrating weekend I had. The pen that broke the camels back has been repaired and has a new life. It's a piece of spalted cross cut walnut on a gold slimline kit. I'm not really happy with the finish, but he pen still looks nice. Oh and the band is Ebony, well at least the repaired section is. As the peice of ebony is attached to the upper section of the pen.

Nice save!

It's a nice piece of wood to start with and the ebony adds character [:)] If might have been even nicer if you could have gotten away with a narrower ebony band, but it works well.

Thanks, I agree on the size of the band, but half the band is the repair area that I cut from the tube. I think it would of looked funny if I would of just shortend the upper tube. :)
