It's an antler casing experiment. Someone has probably already done something like this, but I don't know that I've seen it. Berea Cigar, Fallow antler and 45 auto casings.

Actually Billy, I like this a lot. I'm really not crazy about most of the pens that have shell casings as a part of them- the two parts just always look way too different for me and don't seem to go well together, when they're done the usualy way with something like antler on top and shell casing on the bottom. But the way you've done this one, since it doesn't look so blatantly like a casing, you still get that theme, but in something that flows together nicely.

Thanks, Angela! It actually worked out that way rather by accident. The casing just happened to be the right size for each end of the barrel. The rest of the pen was dictated by that.
