I got a little bored....

Hey guys, Im new to the boards but been making pens for a bit now. I got bored the other day and tried to come up with something I haven't seen before so after looking around the old shop this is what I came up with...The sawdust pen. I used CA as the binding agent because thats what I had, but I think it could be a very unique style especially if you separate your sawdust as you turn then you can create custom blends. Just an idea so let me know what you think.

I like it! I keep dust from several species that need a little "help" buckeye burl is the main one.

Could it be? Is it possible? I think I see a fleck of spalted, Hungarian eucalyptus, pine burl. right there in the center just under the clip. I thought they cut the last one of those down in 1924. Have you got any boards of that you would be willing to swap or trade?

Not to take anything away form your pen, but it has been done before.
Les Elm did a bunch of Sawdust pens a while back.

Thanks guys. I guess you are right Derek...sigh...and I thought I had found something new. Oh well there is nothing new under the sun I suppose. The question isn't can I make a pen out of that...it should be what can I not make a pen from!
