Eduardo, You speak with the wisdom of the "sustainable craftsman". Most of our little cut-off and end pieces suddenly find voice and vision as bands or end pieces or other forms of inset decoration. Long live the scrap pieces!

This is the one thing I hate about pen turning. I never throw away any scraps anymore, I have boxes of small cut offs that I MAY need someday. Is there a group anywhere to help deal with cut off hoarding?

I do this.
I put all the scrap wood pieces in the "fire pile" box. When it is time for a good fire in the fireplace, I just review the pieces in the "fire pile" box with my kids and decide what do to with them :)

Hmmm ... I typically turn my offcuts into beads, for jewelry or decorations ... gives me more practice time on the lathe, doing that. :)

But if you want to join the Pen Turning Anonymous group, just click the link in my sig!
