A customer of mine previously had one of these Rotring nibbed pens in acrylic and then saw the one I did recently in Yew. He decided he wanted a wooden one with nice grain. The general consensus is that this wood is Lacewood Sheoak. It was such a lovely piece of wood I didn't want to cut it so used one length just for the body. It is so light that the balance is not effected.
C&C's welcome.

I hate you !!!
Just when I've picked the blank to make my calligraphy pen out of, you make this one.
Once again I don't know which way(one) to turn.
Absolutely Brilliant!!!!!

Did you have to use an 'insert' inside the cap to keep possible 'ink oops' from ever staining though the timber?

And how does this stuff thread?

Love the timber!! The finish you put on it is awesome!!!

Thanks mate!
I'm sure you'll make the right decision!

Thanks Scott. The inserts are in both cap and barrel, made from Nylon which takes a thread very well. The finish is Hut 2 part friction.
