Honeycomb green yea yea huh

Here is a casting I got from Mike (healeydays) from a recent trade. It's a honeycomb cast in green then back painted it green. Turned out pretty good and put on a Zen.

It looks great Don. Also thanks on the blank design kudos Mike. Something I have been playing with in different colors. First time I have seen it turned though as workshop is in rework turmoil...

Is that real honeycomb from a beehive? It looks nice!

No, real honeycomb wouldn't hold up to cutting and would melt in your hand as you were writing as it's made of wax. This material is used in aerospace and high performance boat building.
