Here is my latest. It is a homebrew Alumilite White Fountain pen (at the moment). I will convert it to a rollerball later on. The colors came out kinda cool, like a burl effect. I used a CA finish (can't really tell from the pics), due to some air voids. I apologize for the job site camera, but it works well enough. All coments good and bad are welcome.

That's Alumilite? I'm impressed!
Cool look .. it does resemble a burl or spalted wood.
Nice threads, too!

Thanks,
Definitely not as nice as your Dragon's Breath blanks. I'm half way done with that one and can't wait to start the Tropical Fruit one. That will be my new everyday pen for sure. No more Bic Sticks for me.

it has a faux bakelite look. I like it. What did you use to cut your threads?

Hans,
The nib section is the standard M10X1.0 for the El Grande, and I use a 1/2 x 36 for the barrel section. I found if you ream out the threads enough on the tapped side, you don't have to thread "as much" they still are standard single start threads. I'm hoping to get a better "1-3 turns to close" as I make these types of pens.

Cool effect and nice threading! I think it looks more like a faux stone....kinda different and I like it. Just don't let that thing roll off the table!!!

Brian,
Yeah, I know, don't ask how, but I know. I'm not really set on posted pens, but I was thinking that since the cap is reamed out to a degree, I could finish the back end of the pen with a small, non noticable postable tenon. I have to think this one through. I would like the posted end to look natural, not forced....or just make a threaded tenon like some of the kits (not my choice).
