These are photos of two pens I made today for a client.

The bolt action pen is made with wood from the Port of Oakland, while the Zen is made from Douglas Fir from the 1936 Warner Brother's Studio 89.

Thanks, Dan. The bolt action is finished with pens plus, since you grip the metal tip (I prefer a softer finish for wood) and the zen is finished in CA since it will be handled more.

Thanks, Mike. Yes, these are part of the group that I stabilized. I'll try some of the other stabilized ones and see how they come out.

Nice find on the timbers!!!
If you don't mind....could you give us some insights to where you go to find these timbers? Guess my 'common searches' around the 'net aren't the correct way to find them.


BTW, some nice turnings!
