It's been a while since I have posted any photos so I will catch up a little today. The first three pens were turned a couple week ago while I was doing a demonstration for the Carolina Pen Turners at the SC state fair, they are all slimlines. The first one is Spalted Hickory finished with sanding sealer and Mylands friction polish. The second was an olive blank that I didn't think would amount to much, but I have not seen olive wood that curly. The third is a nice piece of Kingwood. The second and third were finished with CA. The forth is done in antler and finished with CA.
All complements and criticisms welcomed.

Very nice pens and photos.
:rolleyes: Seamus; I think the idea behind likeing antlers goes back in time to the hunter/gather era. You had to make use of every part of the animal you could. Horns were a sign of good fortune and skill in hunting, as they still are today. Jim S

Thanks Seamus, I like antler also it's just to bad it stinks when drilling and turning. I had planed on keeping the pen for daily use but after a day I am not so sure. I will have to try it a little longer. It's nice to look at though.
