I received some spruce blanks from John Greco (Thanks John!) that are from the buildings at the Elmira Civil War POW camp in New York. This is my first one of them - put on a Black Patriot.

Elmira is my home. I grew up on the same street as the prison. My Dad was the Chemung County Historian, and worked to put up a memorial for the prison. He as also in the PBS documentary "Helmira".

I love when there is a story behind the pen/wood. This wood is not "over-the-top", but it has history, and it is very beautiful in a simple way (this is NOT a critique! - I also love the grain in sycamore). Sometimes simple is better!

The wood and the kit are a great match!

This is nice!

I'll take a simple, clean design with a story every time!
