Angle cut honey locust. Slim hardware. Euro tubes. Brass sheet and translucent PR center band. CA finish. Made for a gift.

The blank came in one of the exchanges or something I've done over the years. I have no idea when or from whom though. Bummer, because I kinda liked the look.

The pen looks great. And the photography is awesome in the first pic. The 2nd pic, the far end of the pen is a little blurry. But I only noticed because the first one is perfect. Nice job, really nice job.

If you look closely at the first pic, both ends are a bit out of focus.

I could do a flat side shot, but I like doing something different when I can.

Well, They say you are your own worst critic. I didn't notice until you said something. I'm just paying more attention now to people's photography because mine is so bad.

Depth of field is a tough taskmaster when shooting something as small as a pen close up. I was throwing 2500 watts of light at that pen, and that was the most DOF I could get.

The trick is to either incorporate the DOF (or lack thereof) into the photo as art like in the second pic, or try to hide it like I did in the first pic.

I wonder if they make a macro lens that goes to f64?
