I was just goofing around with some ideas and this was one of them; I cast a box of colored pencils in Alumilite and created more work than it was worth! Mind you, the pencils were not stabilized. The further into the blank I went, the more the pencil leads wanted to separate via centrifugal force. I used a few layers of CA, cut some more, added more CA, cut some more, and so on. It took forever to turn!

Anyway, this is what I ended up with. If you try this, remember to back paint your blank or at least paint the tubes. It shows if you don't!

This one goes to my daughter who is a school teacher. Fitting, I thought!

C&C always welcomed, as usual

Cool !!!

I wonder ... if you had used hexagonal pencils maybe there would not be a show-through problem, and also the structure might be more stable. What do you think?

I recently saw some bowls and vases made from colored pencils.
It seems the lead part of the pencil would chip easily since it's soft.
