I am finally getting around to posting some pens I have been doing lately. I have been doing some hand dyeing of woods once they are turned and before finish. I have been using Transtint dyes on fairly soft woods. The first one is some Mango (from Dario) with a blue green fade on a Sierra. The second one is some Myrtle Burl with a red to yellow fade on a Baron. They don't photograph that well and look better in person. I am curious for opinions.

They both look great. The myrtle burl is excellent. Someone just asked about the sunburst effect. You nailed it.

I do brush it on and sand it down and brush it on, etc. It really doesn't take that long to do. And yes my fingers do get dyed and it lasts for a couple of days.
