This tree grows with striking medullary rays, can be brittle when cut at right angles these two pieces include sap wood top and bottom. The tree derives its common name from the coarse hair like bark that is 5/8 inch to 3/4 of an inch thick. A strong timber enough sometimes to burn drills but turns and finishes really fine grain. Grows in dryish areas.
Another favourite of my Aussie timber selection.
