haven't done a pen since my christmas order, and needed some shop time. i've read many times the old rule 'never show your brass' i needed to test that theory. this is a sterling silver baron in cross cut walnut with a plexiglass segment and aluminum (although very thin) this was really just a pen for the sake of making a pen. finish didn't turn out good but i didn't feel like sanding back to wood and start over so i just went with it. like many of you i probably see what others wouldn't even notice. might give it to the guy that fixed my lathe. although i think i want to make one with more metal in it.

cheers

oh yeah. i almost forgot, this is also the first time i drilled my blanks on the lathe. what a dream. i don't think i've ever had a hole so centered on both ends. definitely more of that to come.
