Stopped by a local countertop placed and was given a pretty good amount of corian. Messed up a few, gave one to the lady who gave me the corian and other solid surface materials, and now finished one that I like for myself. On the chrome hybrid cigar kit. edit: purposely put the seam in the close up pic, its right down the very middle. You can only see it by checking the patterns, no glue line is visible.

Next is koa from a BIG guitar manufacturer in my area. A friend used to work there and has nice friends who still do, nice enough to give away a pretty good size piece of koa. Hopefully the crappy cell phone picture shows the figure.

last is brown mallee burl from exotic blanks. This was my first pen I used my homeshaped delrin bushings on, and learned that the bushings should still be close to the finish size of your pen. I had them oversized, since i wouldnt need them for shaping, and that prevented me from putting pressure by the parts where the blank will eventually meet the kit, resulting in a few tiny air bubbles. Probably cant see them in the picture but ive since fixed the bushings, now my CA finish is much more stress free/ fool proof.

Really nice deep finish on these!

Yeah, Ive been putting it on so thick its almost like shaping clay for 45 seconds until it sets. I just bought some calipers and I think my CA thickness ended up being around .02" thick, adding .04" total. Some beer was involved and now that Im typing, .02" seems kind of thin for how much I turned the blank below the bushings before building back up. Ive seen other posts about it but cant find them and forgot the numbers.
