This pen was made using Salvaged Antique pine from the H.M.S. Ark Royal R09
The pen is a TM Ares in brushed Pewter.
The H.M.S. Ark Royal was built in 1943 to replace the stricken previous Ark Royal that was sunk in 1941 off Gibralter by a German U Boat (U81).
The Timber was salvaged from an Engineers toolbox and is dated 1945 , during the building of the ship and was on board until its decommission in 1979 and subsequent Scrapping in 1980.

Well done, Thomas !! . Another bit of naval memorabilia, both in terms of pen made, and also with the interesting/historical story for background. . What a pity that the beautiful original ship met such an unfortunate end.
