Hello Everyone
There were a few first with this pen. It is my first European pen and it the first blank I cut and dried my self. I want to thank Wayne (stonepecker) Mannie (Monty) Jim S (BayouPenturner) and Ken (KenV) for their help with information on drying the blank. I really like the way the blank came out it was fairly plan when I started. Evelyn helped with picking out the plating of the kit. I was thinking gun metal and she thought the same just goes to show you great minds think a like. As always any and all comments are welcome.

Thanks Dennis for those kind words. The European kits are much easier then I thought they would be and they are a lot of fun.

Looks like you hit it right Dan. Nothing wrong with that pen. Now that you have done this.......you will get out in the woods and start hunting wood. Nothing better then the fresh air, the wildlife, and the peace that an afternoon alone can bring.

Happy to help. Congrats on all the 'firsts'.

Wayne, thanks for your nice comments. I'm already thinking about other woods I could use. We have apple trees, a fig bush, pear tree, dog wood in our yard. There are woods next to our property.

One of my early pens was from an apple tree that was in my parents backyard - that makes it extra special. Your pen is very nice. The last two pictures show it off really well.

Thank Harry for that nice complaint. I hope I get the chance to talk to you more about how you dry blanks next month at MAPG.
