I'm having fun using up these scrap guitar neck pieces I have.I'm trying different things to come up with a varity of looks with these scraps.
On this one,I glued in a flat piece of walnut between the 2 Koa/Maple necks, then cut at an angle to get this design.
So now I'm trying lots of different combinations to make other blanks so they look different, for a variety.I also have some necks that are Walnut/Maple.
They are hard to work with since the woods are different hardnesses,so it ends up with high/low spots at the stripes,so lots of ca needed to get the barrel perfectly cylindrical in the end.
With having done so many stamp pens this last year,I've sure had a lot of practice time with the ca glue finish....so that's really come in handy when doing these!
Thanks for lookin!
