Here is a satin silver cigar pen I just completed. It has a CA finish mm to 12000. All feedback is strongly encouraged!:biggrin:

Here is the challenge!
What wood is it?
And also, what is the change to the kit I made? (Probably the easiest of the two).

My guess is sycamore with the seed ball stabalized (sp) for the center band.

Yep, the wood is madrone.

Now the real challenge, what is the band made out of? Great job to dgscott and juteck!

Btw, the band is not oversized as it appears. It is a really weird optical illusion.

Before reading any post I think that it is Bass wood and the change was that you added leather in the center

ok, I m newbie, so I wouldn't guess at the wood, but I amgoing to give you an honest visual comment hope it will be taken positively. First of all the wood portion looks reallyy nice theni think if you had used the golden color kit with the black band ( sorry can't tell you the name of the kit because i haven't done it yet) but seen it on line. Maybe keith can help me with it. Anyways, the wood + golden color pen kit+ black band+ loosing the leather band at the top= one god looking pen you can boast about. But, this is only a constructive comment and not a downer one. good luck.
