Yesterday, I posted an initial photo of the blank in George's Bits of Timber Vendor forum. I figured the finished product should be shown in SOYP.

This was a piece of Australian Olive Wood I recently acquired and finally got a chance to work with it in the shop. As with any olive, it smelled sweet and turned like butter and a grumpy old man appeared when I turned the lathe off! Appears to be a bit of figuring in the blank as well...

Finished with CA, MM to 12000, HUTs plastic polish and liquid car wax before assembly on a Liberty Kit.

Tried my best to get a good picture of it, really need to make a photo box.

Now, that's a nice piece of wood, dressing that kit, congrats...!:wink:

Good fit and finish also, as for the grumpy old fellow's face, coming from Australia, anything is possible...!:eek::biggrin:
