Grape Vine Burl

This is a Grape Vine Burl Majestic Jr Roller Ball.

Grape Vine comes out looking very beautiful but it can also change color very rapidly. There can be voids and Checks that can appear suddenly and without notice. It has a very distinct smell that quickly fills the air. (for any one that is wanting to attempt Grapevine it is for advanced turners, SHARP tools, careful cuts, shallow passes, and be ready to fill in voids...multiple times)
This shot does not do this pen justice the best portion is the other side

I managed to get some grape vine from a neighbor several months ago.
Its drying out, so I hope it looks similart to your when I have time to turn it.

Looks nice! Where'd you get the boxes? I've been wanting to get some boxes and bags with my logo printed on them...

I got them from http://mestaridesigns.com/turners, they are about $3 a box unless you purchase more, I am very satisfied with them and they have excellent customer service I have a review on them

That appears to be the elastic band that holds the pen in the box.

It is just where the pen is being held in by an elastic band, I have had a very small amount of Spalt occur before but it is extremely rare on the grapevine. I have worked with quite a bit of Grape vine now and I have only seen 1 maybe two pieces that even hinted at spalt,
