This buckeye burl blank was nearly all gray on the outside...so I stripped off its winter coat to reveal a little salt & pepper[:p]
BB always has the good stuff!:D

Nice job. I have a question about buckeye burls. I have turned many pens from the stuff and somebody made a passing comment on a forum that eventually the colors will oxidize and the gray/green/blue colors with all turn more brown. Is that true?

Not so with the stabilized blanks, they hold the colors just fine. They did for me at least. I've bought them from BB and sent some to Steve White and they are both just fine.
