The following 2 pens are 2 halves of the exact same blank. The blank started out primarily white with shades of silver/gray/black swirled through.

The gunmetal one one is reverse painted white, the chrome one is reverse painted black. This is the most obvious example I have done yet that shows how big of a difference paint color choice can make on a blank.

I would love to have had another to do silver to see what the mid tone would be.

looks like a vertex roller ball or the same pen with a different name.. Cool pens. I like the component contrasted with the blank.

Biggest difference I've seen to date. They are not just different shades, they look like different blanks. Thanks Carl for showing the example.

It was the "Storm Cloud" blank from Peachtree. You can sort of see a picture of it on their website. We picked up a pack of 20 various acrylic blanks for $40 at the woodworking show and this was in the mix.

Quick Edit: Found a picture of the full blank on Amazon.

Well I've been schooled now. Wow, I wouldn't have thought it would make that big of a difference. Makes ya wonder what variations you can get from a blank. Just amazing! Great set of pens!
