I'm not sure just what kind of burl it is but it was a challenge to work with. There was just enough useable wood for the pen and there were a lot a cracks and splits that I hoped would turn out when I got the blank down to size....it didn't work out that way. I thought about filling them in with CA and shavings but I went another route. I spread CA on the whole blank and while it was still wet I sanded it with 150 grit sandpaper. I think it came out nice. I fully sanded the blank to 12000 MM and finished with WTF. All C & C are welcome.
