This pen was made as a prize for a benefit auction to help a friend's cat, who was desperately ill and her owner didn't have the funds to properly deal with the illness. Thanks to Curtis and Dan for the inspiration of doing the benefit auction! The kitteh is now doing fine, and the pen is on its way to the auction winner.

This pen looks even more beautiful in person. She did a great job on the CA finish. This pen just shines.

By the way, you can click through to see a much bigger picture of the pen, and get a slightly better idea of the grain. Very pretty wood.

Wow much nicer to see the bigger picture. Nice grain and the fit is fabulous! Great job and a cool way to help someone raise some needed money.

Thanks! Nara is, I think, an under-appreciated wood, like oak. It looks *okay* as a blank and as you're turning it, and you can kind of make out the chatoyancy while working it, but it's when you put the finish on it that it really POPS.
