I cast these over easter, almost a total stuf-up - see here on another forum for casts, problems and glue-ups. Managed to save a few coffee bean casts by slicing and gluing, the banksia just turn out like I have cast with clear resin :redface:.

2 EBs coffee beans with brass tubes glued in with yellow/green tinted epoxy, 2 Sierras with white tubes, and 2 banksias with black tubes. All finished with CA.

Yeah.. it does tend to sink :eek: I think it's the large size of the grains.
(as you said, more like sand than powder) If you use enough of the powder
so that there's nowhere for it to sink TO, then it would glow.. but it would
probably cut like granite. The stuff is hard! I think there's finer powders,
but the smaller the particle the faster it fades. Some of them fade in about
the time it takes for the light bulb to turn off.:rolleyes:

Still, nice work with the bands.. Looks like you planned it that way all along.
