I recently was lucky enough to get in on some free blanks for new turners and since I've only been turning pens since November of 2013 I'm a newbie and qualified for some of these great members gifts of blanks. So here are three pens from some differant members. 1st is a Cabrollero in a Maple Burl I bought from a vendor but the red acrylic band was in one of the gift boxes. 2. is a piece of Spalted Cottonwood from Alice who sent an amazing set of blanks to me on a Le Roi Royale from Smitty. 3. is a blue acrylic from one of those free boxes on a Coronado kit from Rockler which were on sale around $3 . Anyway i have a lot of blanks to keep me busy for a while and I still have to send one pen to a donor of some of that free wood. Thanks Guys and Gals for the blanks!
