Another fellow worker retired April 30, 2014, where he worked for 35 years. I always try to design a pen set with a clock that suits the individuals job during his career to personalize the gift. During the spring and summer months the majority of work done by his crew and himself was irrigation. So I obtained a sprinkler head from one of my fellow workers, and went to work. This was the result. The body of the sprinkler head is maple, turned on my lathe, cut and sanded the sprinkler head where needed then glued it to the maple body. The Artisan slimline pen and face where the clock is inserted is pallet wood from India. The base is Curly Maple dyed green to represent grass. Needless to say, he loved it.
Thanks for looking.
