.....full size kit. :) Dressed in a Titanium suit!
This thing is huge!
Still not positive it is amboyna burl but it sure is a nice looking piece of wood.
I'm afraid I may walk bent over if I kept it in my shirt pocket!

Thanks for looking!

Yes, I would say a piece of red Amboyna burl but not with the burl grain the top of the burls get, this is a piece from the base of the burl, close to the junction of the burl and the tree. I have had a few of those type grained blanks from the Amboyna burls I have processed (2 this last few days), that grain is between the burl base and the circular formation of the burled wood, itself...!

That bit of sapwood, gave it away...!

Great pen, no doubt, yes, they are enormous but, some people have unusually big hands so, those will fit them to the teeth...!

Cheers
George

Mike, I do now recall a pleasant smell when I was turning that.:)
Often there is laundry being done in the basement at the same time and I don't pay much attention.
However, I keep shaving from many of the woods and put them in the pen kit poly bags.
I just checked the one from this blank and sure enough, it smells good.
Thanks.
