That's right, its my first time making a Jr. Gent II. I had some challenges with this pen. First I didn't realize when I got it the 10.5 mm bit was not the same one as the cigar pens I make. I did get the 12.5 already with this kit though. So I drilled with the 10mm and then just slightly moved the drill press table over and drilled the hole some more just barley chipping away. It worked on the first try and the tube went in nice and snug for me. I see some obvious issues like the glue on the end where I broke it free from the bushings. Also the picture taking wasn't the best and doesn't do this pen justice I think. I did my 5 coats of Medium CA finish after first doing 2 coats of HUT Crystal Coat. I then MM wet all the way up. I did this twice. Lastly I used Plasti-Polish and shined it up. Like I said I have a couple things to work on but I am VERY happy with my first result.

Wood: Kingswood
Kit: Jr Gent II Gold with black top on cap
Finish: HUT Crystal Coat/Medium CA x 5

WOW, Todd. The finish came out great. The grain looks deep. Nicely Done.
The body matches the curve of the clip. It looks great!

Get that 10.5 mm drill bit. It will make your life easier...

The pen looks great! A sound job that you should be VERY proud of. Very nice results for your first JG.

But, you are hereby notified that you need to join me in camera school:).

Oh yea....Don't trust that wobble out the bit thing too often, that will eventually bite you where it hurts---in your wallet.

Say there fellow. That is pretty darned good and I was able to decipher your description easily. Keep it up. Say, is the top a little proud of the clip ring or is it a photo shadow?
