Thanks guys! I'd like to do another one using the Curly Maple and do something to pop the grain a little. Any suggestion?

Hi R.T.,

Beautiful pen! You could try a light coating of Boiled Linseed Oil - it darkens it a bit, but seems to pop the grain nicely. Then finish however you want.

RT you could try using some dye, I've bought several curly maple, poplar and box elder that were dyed and they really make a nice pen.

Thanks for the tips and I'll give them a try. It's a pretty wood just the way it is, but I think it would really stand out with just a little help.
