Oh it was a pain in the A** to turn , especially that the Gaboon blanks I have are all for slim pens (5/8 x 5/8). I am hoping the pen doesn't crack , thats why I'm giving it away instead of selling it. I had a beautiful Gaboon Baron split after a month , Filled the crack with superfine green embossing powder and said it was meant to be that way ![:0] Gave it to a friend also[^]

Bill,
I know what you mean about certain woods cracking. I made a red palm americana rollerball, it cracked once, i disassembled, and filled the cracks with CA, refinished, reassembled, and about 2 months later new cracks appeared (this pen was NOT stored in a hot humid environment). Needless to say I kind of gave up on this pen, so it has cracks, it's a pen I keep in a convenient location.
