You just need to have an off day once in a while to humble the spirit. Here is my off day. Pens - 2-4-10 Hickory, Antler, Acrylic.jpg

Pens - 2-4-10 X Cut Ark Black Walnut, Red Band.jpg
The top pen is 1790 Hickory from a barn in Penna. Should have left it there. The center band is Elk and the bottom is left over acrylic - the good side.

The second pen is Arkansas Black Walnut with a box elder center band.

Sorry folks. I look forward to tomorrow and better looking pens. I need inventory for a Saturday show.

I fixed the hemorrhoid pen. Now it has stitches. It can't laugh because it hurts but can write with care.

Arkansas Black Walnut

Now that's what we use to call "Butt Ugly"... sorta reminds me of a Baboons Buttock's... So, what kind of finish did you use...
I used Teak Oil and CA and then finished it with a dark HUT wax. I could have finished it with Medium CA with about 8 coats and gotten better results. I only have one piece of Arkansas Black Walnut, cross cut left. Should I try it?
