A couple days ago my neighbor gave me a slab that he said he has had for close to 20 years and didn't have any use for, he didn't know what it is but I suspect Cocobolo. Very dense, heavy and oily.
Sanded to 600, Mylands sanding sealer, 8 coats BLO/CA and buffed with Autosol.

Not 100% sure, but it seems to me Lignum Vitae... the pen has some green on it. Very nice pen ...thanks for sharing.

After looking up Lignum Vitae I believe you both are correct. It sure turned beautifully using my PenPro.

Nice pen, and a beautiful piece of wood.

I've been hoard some of the LV (Argintine) that the Woodcraft stores have been selling for a buck. Just turned a piece last night. It also just so happens that the night before I turned some Cocobolo.

While I've not had the chance with true LV, LV Argintine has a sweet smell.

Hardest wood.

How did it smell while turning it? Like Ghostrider alluded, LV has a pretty distinct smell.
