When the storm came through on Thursday and knocked trees down all over Carrollton, one of the huge oaks at work blew loose and became really dangerous. It was gonna fall any second. They called in a tree service and had it cut down. I found this in the remains, and took a large branch. I already cut out a ton of blanks, and this is from the 3 I liked best and added to the privatew reserve. I plan on bringing some to the Georgia Chapter meeting on the 18th of June. May not be quite AS figured, but it still looks really, really good.

Good looking wood and a super job with it. Just from personal experience, if you haven't dried the wood it will shrink, crack or do some other undesirable thing as it "cures out". I've heard you can do the drying in the microwave but not sure how. Great job on the found wood.

Yeah, that's a possibility. The rest of it is open air right now. So far, I've had no problems with branches that have been dead for a while. They just don't have much moisture in them unless they've rotted quite a bit.
