The base of the antler was difficult and needed to be filled because of the pithy fiber. The skin was tough, however.

I like it it looks very rugged but it is very elegant at the same time. I think that I perfer the antler to show some of the outside coloration like your pen does. good job

I totally agree with this. The blank on the black enamel is my favorite and this is one of the few blanks that I think would go well with the antique brass platting.

I like the idea of the antique brass as well. I still have enough to try it. Need to make a trip to Woodcraft tomorrow, since I am only looking for one.
