Here are some pens that I made for the Forest Project. You can read more about the project here:

The Forest Project requires that you use only wood from the project. The wood that I got for the project had limited character so I tried to make the pens more interesting by my treatment of the wood.

The first pen is cross cut Apple on an executive kit, nothing really unusual there.

The 2nd pen is a 6 strand Celtic knot on a non-postable Jr. Gent made with magnolia. I saw this once referred to as ghost segmenting.

The 3rd pen is a ghost magnolia double Celtic knot. The bands on the ends were added due to a "design opportunity"

Great job Cody!

I really love the first pen - the Plain Jane Apple!!!

For the Celtic's I wonder if the "rules" would allow an alternate veneer (walnut or blank dyed maple) to allow a clear offset between the primary blank and the Knots??? (Just pondering). The placement of the knots is excellent, just thinking about highlighting them more. Knots are fine, my eyes, maybe less so!

great cause.
