Here is a pen I made for a good friend that retired at the yong age of 81 and is still an avid aviator. The wood is Tasmanian Tiger Myrtle, I traced the airplane on the wood and carved it out with an exacto knife and filled it in with inlace then finished it with 10 coats of thin CA, Micro Mesh, one step and RW. The pen it is resting on is curley Mango.

Pretty cool looking... I'm sure it will be treasured. Looks like a lot of work to cut out the shape, but you did a nice job.

I flew for 40 years and 7000 hours until I lost my medical.

If it had a square tail I'd say it was a 210. What was your guide?
