I haven't turned a pen for a while due to a frozen shoulder, but as it is slooowly getting better, I thought I would give it a try on a pen. Someone challenged me a while back to do an Coastal Banksia (Banksia integrifolia)with each hole filled with something different in lieu of casting. So I grabbed a banksia and painstakingly filled each hole with one of the flouro glitter colours I have with thin CA then turned it onto a Black Sierra Vista (I thought the holes would have ended up too small on a normal Sierra). Unlike the normal Sierra I also found out that the Vista is a different dia at each end . Very hard to photograph the amazing colours, they really pop, and the grain in the banksia was amazing too. Very typical me , so this one is a keeper .

Very very impressive!! I'll bet that everyone that sees it in reality, is equally impressed. :)

I hope your shoulder 'un-freezes' soon and painlessly..:)

G'day stranger...!

What is all that about a frozen shoulder, what have you done to yourself, mate...??? I probably shouldn't ask, is a good chance I know what caused it...!

So, a multi colour dwarf banksia, huh...?
The things we do when we have lot of spare time up our sleeves.:biggrin:

On the other hand, it turn out quite well, a good conversation piece for those less familiar with casting/filling, etc..!

Imagine do that with resin, that would really test ones patience, huh...???:)

Send us a quick update of what you have been up since you were here, I bettcha will lots of interesting stuff...!

Get well fast...!

Cheers
