A few weeks ago I volunteered to craft a pen to be used by visitors who sign the U.S. Pacific Fleet guest book atop a desk once belonging to Fleet Adm. Chester W. Nimitz. The desk is located at the Navy's U.S. Pacific Headquarters, Pearl Harbor.

I used an Electra Pen Kit and a piece of decking off the Battleship USS California (BB-44). I covered the pen with Doctor's Pen Plus.

I ordered a Maple laser engraved case with the Navy Emblem on top and a laser engraved graphic of the California on the inside of the lid. I have not received that yet.

I hope the pen adds a bit more history to the signing of the guest book.

Beautiful pen!
Is the pen already there & is that desk in an area that's open to civilians?

No then pen is not there, I am waiting on the box. I don't know the answer to your last question.

Thanks - I'll be working at the Red Hill fuel depot the last 2 weeks of July and I'll be making another trip there around mid-Sep. I'll check with my escorts on possible access.
