Got this as a freebie short from Appalacian Wood with a purchase of some other stuff. This is a new wood for me. I really like the colors in it. Copper is a hard metal to match to a blank, but I thought it looked good with this one. Finish is CA/MM12000 & Novus2.

Pen looks great. I notice you said you have never used box elder before, did you know the red will turn brown after being in the sun for a short period of time? That is why when turning a bowl I use an air brush to spray a light coat of red coloring over the box elder red before applying the finish. Just a heads up.

Gary,that is a nice looking pen there. I've not made one of those before. I have some of that wood too. This is a bowl I made from it along with a few pens. Great wood to turn.
