This had a crack in it and wavy finish because I didn't know how to do a proper spray lacquer when I did I it.

Sealed the crack and you can't see it thankfully. Finished with Doctors.

Thanks for reminding me Mike. Totally forgot. It's actually desert iron wood. This pen is almost as heavy as some of the M3 metal ones I've made!

Of course a better picture might help
Let me see what I can do.

Nice looking pen how many coats of Doctors are you using? It seems like you could get more shine than you are getting.

I'm up to three coats. I'm trying to find a good balance between a good shine and good feel. I don't want it overly plastic but want the protection.

I've read your tutorial a few times so I'm using that as a basis but want to find a finish that I enjoy. I'm sure I'll eventually follow yours exactly but I still am trying other things. A print out of your guidelines are next to my lathe!
