Fish Story.....well mabey not

wife's coworker gave her a bunch of nice wood, so now i have to make him something

Thought id do a slim from the mahogany , finished the pen, but it needed something else,

So I said how about a base, rounded over edges and cut a grove to hold pen…..nope

So I said how about a top ….nope

Still needed something else,
so I grabbed my knife and lo and behold... I lied not a FISH !!!!

a dolphin (actually a whale i think)

I cut away the material around the dolphin, (relief carving)
The finish is sprayed on deft.

gerryr it cant be a Pacific White-Sided dolphin, it has red mahogany stain on side...[][]

Greg, while i think it came out ok, and ill probable do something like this again, when i put a statesman or emperor pen on it lacked a whole lot.
actually i didnt like it. Needs a whole different look. Clock as well or instead of is good idea.
