Finished up a Shakespeare fountain pen kit in a scale pattern, aluminum, padauk and walnut. Finish is Brushing Lacquer polished out with micro mesh.

I love what you are doing! This pen is excellent. A daunting pattern that while I understand its construction, I'm hesitant to try (too many other projects ahead in the queue).

Well done. (#479 on my to-do list).

Wow! Amazing work! It looks VERY nice.

The glue is a 3m epoxy #08115 and is black when mixed, it's an expensive epoxy, but is used for bonding aluminum and steel body panels together. When finished the bond is fairly strong and doesn't have the tendency to blow apart like CA adhesive.

Thanks for this tip. I have had a lot of trouble with metal segmented blanks blowing apart when gluing with CA.
